Tim Peters
Founder & Publisher, Universal Asset Owners
Tim Peters is the founder and publisher of Universal Asset Owners, an independent intelligence and editorial platform dedicated to the institutions that safeguard and allocate the world’s long-term capital. He is also an LP and trusted advisor to international investment funds.
Over more than two decades, Tim has worked across private-equity-backed businesses, technology, international markets, institutional investment, capital formation, and strategic growth. His work has brought him into contact with pension funds, sovereign institutions, government organizations, investment firms, corporate leaders, entrepreneurs, and other participants in the global capital ecosystem.
He has held senior executive leadership positions in high-growth and multinational technology organizations, helping companies expand across North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. His experience spans corporate strategy, marketing, revenue growth, market development, product commercialization, partnerships, acquisitions, and the scaling of businesses supported by institutional and private-equity capital.
Tim serves as Chairman of the Canadian Hero Fund, where he leads the investment committee. The Fund supports the families of Canadian military personnel who have lost their lives in service. He is also a founding board member of the Canadian Qatari Business Collaboration Council, and has contributed to international business and investment initiatives connecting Canada with markets and institutions across the Gulf region.
Through Universal Asset Owners, Tim is building a publication around a central belief: the institutions that manage capital on behalf of societies, citizens, retirees, and future generations require journalism and intelligence designed around their unique responsibilities.
His editorial interests include sovereign capital, public pensions, long-term ownership, institutional governance, private markets, technology, artificial intelligence, climate risk, geopolitical change, national investment strategies, and the relationship between capital allocation and long-term public outcomes.
He holds an Honours Business Administration (HBA) degree from the University of Toronto and an MBA from the Ivey Business School at Western University. He is a Chartered Marketer (CM) and a graduate of the Innovation Governance Program (iGP), the Council of Canadian Innovators’ governance designation for directors of technology and high-growth companies.
