Methodology & data sources

What this is. An illustrative relationship map, not a holdings or exposure database. Each edge represents a publicly reported relationship — an asset owner that has disclosed or been widely reported as a backer of a manager, and the asset classes in which that manager runs flagship franchises.

Seeding. Owner↔manager edges are drawn from public mandate announcements, co-investment disclosures and reported commitments for major sovereign and pension allocators (Norges/GPFG, ADIA, CPP, GIC, CalPERS, PIF, Temasek, Mubadala, Ontario Teachers') and large alternatives managers (Blackstone, BlackRock, Brookfield, KKR, Apollo, Carlyle). Node size reflects approximate, publicly stated AUM in US$bn. Edges are directional indicators of a known relationship, not sized by dollars committed.

Make it live. The same graph schema is designed to ingest SEC Form 13F institutional holdings and public commitment / mandate disclosures, so edges can be weighted by disclosed dollars and refreshed each filing cycle. The refresh script documents that ingestion plan.
